Our objectives are to achieve and promote sustainable transport improvements in West Dorset, specifically the six Dorset Council electoral divisions of Beaminster, Bridport, Chesil Bank, Eggardon, Lyme & Charmouth and Marshwood Vale.
Additionally, we work to improve wider connectivity (bus, rail and active travel) for better links between neighbouring communities, counties and elsewhere.
We hold regular public meetings which provide the opportunity for anyone to speak about transport matters. Meetings are normally held in Bridport (online attendance also possible) – they generally include local councillors and representatives from local bus/rail operators. So come along and ask questions or have your say!
WATAG is non-political and has no budget or formal transport responsibilities. We are supported by Dorset Council.
We have a Chair, Vice Chair, and advisory committee of approximately 8 local residents. We regularly seek to refresh our committee numbers to ensure we keep abreast of the continuing challenges that transport in West Dorset presents to this mix of town and rural communities.
